CLASS CRITERIA:

The intent of the “Stock” class is to simulate an original, assembly line condition vehicle. It is recognized that most of these vehicles will have some changes and additions. To differentiate between a “Stock” and a “Street” vehicle, the following schedule of modifications will be applied. A point total will be computed and if this total exceeds four (4) points, the vehicle will be classified as “Street”. If the point total exceeds 19 points, the vehicle will be classified as “Custom”.

Junior Class:

This class is for 15 years old and younger. If they have entered a model in Box Stock, they may have very little help with the completion of the kit. You may also have an entry in the Modified Class. If the Junior does enter a kit into this class, they may have help in the completion of the kit. It must be disclosed that there was help with the kit and who was the person who assisted. The Junior Class will not have multiple classes. There will be only two classes. They are Junior Box Stock and Junior Modified.

Advance Classes:

In the Advance Classes there are several classes.

Box Stock:

Box Stock is just what it says. These models are limited to very minim detail. They may be painted to match the box, but no other detail will be allowed. There must be the instructions for the kit placed with the kit on display so that the judges can see that the rules have been followed. If the kit comes with other detailed parts, they may be used with the kit in this class. The instructions must have the detailed parts listed in them. If they are not, the kit will be disqualified.

Modified Class:

In the Modified Class, it will be wide open for detail. Any thing goes for making the kit more realistic. Engine detail, painting, and what ever else can be done to make the kit look more real. This class does not have to make the instruction sheet available because the builder isn't competing in box stock. They are striving to make the kit be as real as possible.

Compeitition Class:

The Competition Class, wether it is Box Stock or Modified, will be Top Fuel Dragsters, Funny Cars, Pro Stocks, Bracket Cars, Sprint Cars, and NASCAR kits. Funny Cars can have any body that is available just as long it is powered by a Mopar engine only. The same goes for dragsters and any other open wheel cars. This means that the Blue Max Mustang body will be allowed just as well as any other body such as Jungle Jim's Vega or Tom McEwen's 1957 Chevy Funny Car.

Engine Detail:

All kits that are to be judged in this class are to be seperately entered into this class. This is for hyper-detailed engine compartments. After market parts, such as belts, hoses, wiring, etc…, are examples of what may be showcased in this class. Let your imagination run wild. A separate award will be given in this area for door-slammers and competition models due to the fact that open wheel cars do not have a “engine compartment” per say. This is for 1/24th and 1/25th scale entries.

Paint and Finish:

Quality and workmanship “shine” in this category. Awards will be given for “Best Exotic” paint job, and for “Best Finish per kit instructions (how closely the kit matches the prototype)”. This applies to all 1/24th and 1/25th scale entries, competition and door-slammers alike.

Separate Awards for Engine Detail as well as Paint and Finish will be given to entries in the 1/16th scale. (IE. There will be a 1/24th scale “Best Engine”, and 1/16th scale “Best Engine”, likewise for 1/24th scale “Best Finish” and 1/16th “Best Finish”).

(A Note On Display Cases – For the owners benefit, to protect their kits from the elements of mother nature, it is recommended to place the kit into a display case. This is a recommendation, but not a requirement.)

Award Qualification:

For a class to qualify for an award presentation, there must be at least three (3) entries in that class.

First, Second, and Third Place Ribbons will be awarded in all classes except “Best of Show”, “People’s Choice”, “Engine Detail”, “Paint and Finish”, and “Best Diorama”. These classes will each receive a First Place Blue Ribbon.
