Well, back in 1970 when these cars hit the streets (I was only 15 years old) I
knew I had to have a 440 6 Cuda with shaker hood. Back then my part time job
only making a buck and a quarter an hour couldn't even pay for gas, so some 25
years later the search began.
After meeting Dan Robinson at a car show we talked about old mopars.
After about a three year search I finally found this car, I had looked a lot of
junk and clone cars but nothing that i was real interested in. A dealer in
Chicago that was helping me find a car called and said he found the car I was
looking for. After viewing some pictures and videos I started to work on owner about
selling the Cuda. His heart said keep the car but his wallet and wife said he
had to sell. I caught a flight into Chicago looked at the car, cut a deal and
had it shipped home.
The Cuda is a real v code 440 6 bbl car with torqueflite, Dana 60
w/4:10 gears. It is 1 of 380 built with that engine, trans and, rearend
combination. Other options include shaker hood, hemi suspension, power steering, power
brakes with front discs and console with slapstick shifter. FE5 Rallye Red paint
with Black Buckets. I also have 2 copies of the broadcast sheet, car has been
appraised by Galen Govier and fender tag and broadcast sheet have been decoded.
We enjoy doing as much club activities that we can, and we have really meet some
great people thru the club.
It sounds like Danny finally found his dream car. And what a car it is.
