Mike Sonnamaker’s 1963 Plymouth Savoy
When I purchased this car I wanted a 10 second steel headed street car. The
car has been lots of low 11:00's at 126 mph. Maybe this is the year for the 10
second pass.
The car has a 30 over 440 with 915 heads prepared by Les Adams. The cam is a
custom grind roller, the exhaust is 3". Power to the ground is
transmitted through an original push button shift transmission and put to the
ground through a 8.75 rear end with 4.10 gears. With split mono leaf springs
and caltrack bars. Power supplied to the pavement by a set of 28 x 10.5 tire.
