The old timers in the club might well remember my '69 (justa) 383 Super Bee, but many mauy not know what happened to it. Well, it took a trip north in '97, and was replaced by the Challenger you see here.
Originally sold in San Antonio to a guy named Bubba, it had a hard life early on, It was partially disassembled in 1971 with only 12.762 miles on the clock. After sitting for several years, it was sold, then sold again, and again untinally finding it's way to me in early 1998. Apart all those years was both a blessing and a curse. But it kept the mileage low and the original seats intact. I sent it to the pain shop in Oct. '98 and got it back in March of '99. Slowly I began sifting through all the parts trying to decide what was useable. Then fate stepped in, in the form of Galen Govier. I received info from him documenting this as the ONLY Challenter R/T 440 Six Pack 4 speed that is EB5 blue, with matching bright blue interior.
So I have spent the last 4+ years trying to restore the car to a level it deserves. I have cursed it many times during those years, having even considered selling it unfinished. But I am glad I hung on to it. I enjoy showing AND driving my "one of a kind" Blue Beauty. How often can any of us get a chance like that?
Tem, thanks for telling us the story of this rare Six Pack Challenger.
