I picked up the hot rod in the summer of 2000. Within one month I had swapped
the 400 and automatic for a big cammed 440 and 4 speed. Like most other gear
heads I wanted more power. The idea of turbos had been bouncing around in my head
for some time and I developed a really nice setup on paper.
In the spring of 2001, the hot rod found boost. For a grand total of $2800, I
had scrounged up all the parts and machine work necessary to put it together.
The complete build was logged on the Moparts.com website. That's where the
editor of Mopar Muscle magazine found it and offered to shoot my magazine article at
the Mopar Nats.
Just before the Nats I was laid off at work. After 8 months of unemployment my
income returned and the hot rod is getting the attention it deserves. I'm
currently working on an EFI conversion as well as the four wheel disc brakes and
other upgrades.
I would like to thank all the Cowtown Mopars club members as well as those on
Moparts.com, Scatpack.com, and my friend Jeremy for hosting my (admittedly
outdated) web site at www.pentastarpower.com/feets/newpage.html The help and
encouragement I received kept me going when I needed it most.
