Kim Humphreys 1974 Dodge Dart Sport
This 1974 Dodge Dart Sport has been in the club for many years. It was originally
owned and raced by Tommy Craig, and it set an NMCA record for the class it was in. It
was raced with a small block and 4 speed. After Tommy passed away, it was finally sold
to Lonnie Hendry who had it for several years, but never put it on the track. I recently
purchased it from Lonnie and got the original small block from Rick Mariano, I have installed
the motor and put an automatic in the car. It has been to the track now twice and
I have ran a 6.90 @ 99 mph in the 1/8 mile. That is shifting the car at 6200 and only
launching it at 3600. I feel it has more in it and will find out in the weeks to come.
Future plans call for either a stroked small block or a big block, not sure yet. I plan
on using it for NHRA Super Street and Super Gas racing. I am hoping to have it run mid
5's in the 1/8 and high 8's in the quarter by early next year.
